Occasionally, the cardboard cutting template sent in our Step Through kits is mistaken for packing materials and thrown away. If your kit no longer contains a template, you can easily make one from the cardboard box the kit is shipped in.
Small/Medium Template
Large Template
1. Use the box the Step Through kit was shipped in to make your template.
2. As a single piece, cut off one side and either the top or bottom panel of the shipping box. Since the fold is already included between the 2 panels, it provides the extra flap you need when you are finished to rest on the tub rail.
3. Along the fold of the two panels, measure and draw the top dimensions: 25″ for the Small/Medium or 25½” for the Large.
4. From the center of this line, measure down to mark your height: 8″ for Small/Medium or 10″ for Large
5. Then measure out 11.5” to each side from this mark to draw the line for the bottom. This will center the 23″ needed for the bottom cut.
6. Draw lines to connect the beginning and end points from your top measurements to the beginning and end point on the bottom line.
7. Cut the cardboard along the lines you drew. This example contains cut lines for both the Small/Medium and Large for demonstration. Final was cut for the Large.
Example of the homemade version laid over the commercial template sent with the kit. You’ll notice the only difference is the size of the flap on the top rail and no back overhang.
Voila! The homemade version is finished, placed on the tub and ready to trace.
If you would rather order a new cardboard template, you can order the small/medium or large template from our store.
